JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Ron: Two TVs with satilite, cards, board games, dip
bar, pull up bar, handball court, library,
church, bible study, different self improvement
classes. JM: There are two TVs. Cards, games, handball and
basketball. Many people exercise, and a good
majority of them spend time writing or drawing.
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Ron: There was alot of disagreements over what was on
the tv. Other than that there were no other
problems with anything else. JM: You can get what you want. Normally there is a TV
for the Spanish speaking inmates and one for
everyone else, there is some disagreement on
channels but in the end it's not too bad.
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Ron: No, while in there you have to find ways to pass
time and when you have other guys to workout
with it gives you more motive. JM: No. I rapidly lost weight, and managed to keep in
decent shape. I was ill often due to the weight
loss.
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Ron: once a day for an hour. JM: I hour a day.
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Ron: Yes, They were held on Sunday morning,I enjoyed
the services, they were very good and they spoke
so we could understand, and did not judge. JM: They did. Often the pastor would come to the pods,
and on Sundays and Wednesdays you could go to
services in the library.
